Dave Jensen has been writing and speaking about careers in the sciences for decades, and this work is the result of unique knowledge he has gained from the study of other people’s experiences (O.P.E.). Jensen frequently writes about OPE as you’ll find within these pages. He believes that studying how successful people move through their career is critical to developing a game plan and setting up truly useful (and reachable!) career goals.
As a headhunter for three-plus decades, Jensen learned that the best way to be helpful to someone in their career choice was to listen well, and to learn about what makes that person “tick.” He has written about these experiences using stories and examples, and the result could be very interesting reading if you’re on the road to career success in either the sciences or an engineering discipline, or if you hire and manage technical staff.
